ZIMMERMANN FW 14 15

Nicky Zimmermann deserves a lot of bows.
This designer is the dream of any romantic girl out there. And who said pink is the only romantic color? What about Bondi Blue? We already saw this color at the BCBG Max Azria fashion show, but here it appears in a much bigger scale. My reaction to it: I love it! It is such a bubbly color but goes so well with the Winter mood. Couldn't ask for a better pallet for next year!
Oversized coats and biker jackets were also very seen in this fashion show. Will this be a trend? Personally, I wouldn't mind it. If the look is getting too chic or too formal, you can always add a maxi coat and it instantly gets cooler.
I believe the main stars of this fashion show were the silhouettes. There were just so many but looked so right. The problem of presenting too many silhouettes or too many fabrics, as seen in this show, is that the collection may not look that cohesive, but, in this case, everything looked great together.
The little bows models were wearing on their necks gave that "somethin', somethin'" to the fashion show.

HAVE A NICE DAY!

ADIOS JACOBS!

Fashion has been saying a lot of goodbyes lately. Not that we are not used to it, since we say goodbye to trends every six months...
But there are some goodbyes that are harder to say than others.
Even though this has already happened a while ago (just like I said on the Saint Laurent's post),
I could not spend one more day without talking about the loss Louis Vuitton suffered.
Marc Jacobs and what he did for Louis Vuitton are definitely not easy to forget.
He gave Louis Vuitton's fashion shows the magic fashion shows should have.
His productions were flawless.
Louis Vuitton will miss Jacobs for sure.

His last collection was dark and had some of the most famous scenarios Jacobs used for his fashion shows. From the carousel, to the escalators, not forgetting the elevators, the big fountain or the hotel hall.
It was great show which we all will remember.

DENIM

Everyone knows denim - one of the best fabrics out there that matches with every single thing!
This season, you should wear this trend more than ever.
Try pairing it with other denim pieces or with nice cropped tops.
From pants to shorts, from tops to dresses, anything can be made out of denim!

HAVE A SUPER NICE SATURDAY!

.

This week I was more into blue...
Not that I have been feeling blue,
but for some reason this color deserved my attention.

HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND!

KHAKI

Khaki is now called the new neutral and I couldn't agree more!
Khaki is that color that goes with everything - from leather to denim, from white to black.
Even though this color is related to Winter parkas, it is perfect for Summer.
Vogue Paris presented an editorial dedicated to khaki, camouflage and all military related tones, which proves the importance of such color.
If you are tired of making beige combos, try to wear khaki - the results will be as good or even better!

TRANSPARENT

Here is another brand new trend.
Transparency is one of the fashion trends for this summer.
Be aware that it is not about wearing short clothes showing everything off.
It is more about having the ability to show what you always show but in a more mysterious way.

Upper Line: Giambattista Valli; Stella McCartney; Giorgio Armani; Calvin Klein Collection;
Lower Line: Missoni; Temperley London; Vanessa Bruno; Chloé

GEOMETRY CLASS

Another trend is on: geometric patterns!
I don't know whether you are a geometry lover or not, but in this case you should.
I believe this is not a hard trend to understand. It is just about squares and lines. Easy, right?
There are not many restrictions to make.
You can play with it softly and wear a geometric patterned top with some blue jeans or you can go for a total geometric look or even mix different geometric patterns.
It is up to you!

Upper Line: Sportmax, Acne Studios, House of Holand and Topshop Unique
Lower Line: Marni, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors and Chanel

FW 13 - NEW YORK - ALEXANDER WANG

This season, Wang was looking at boxing, that explains the covered heads (5) and the
maxi gloves that opened the show.
As said in Style.com, "Wang was fixated on roundness and blurriness", the total opposite of last season.
Black (3, 6), grey (2, 4, 5), dark blue (1) and a little of brown were the main colors.
The foggy environment matched the outfits perfectly.
A lot of fur (4) and a lot of leather (6) are the materials that the Wang Girl is going to wear next Fall.

BROCADES & APPLIQUÉS

Designers of the biggest brands, such as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Balmain, Gucci, Marni,
Prada as well as many others, have offered us a “Brigade of Brocades” as Style.com named it.

                Accessories and ornaments have always been a people’s social and economic status. In the last years, the status was more about the materials and also the designer we were wearing. This Fall I believe we are getting back to the ornaments festival.

DOLCE & GABBANA

VERSACE

When I think about this trend I immediately remember Lanvin’s fashion show and the great ornamented above the knee grey dress that came in thirty-third place on the show. That fashion show was amazing but this piece made me ascend to heaven.

LANVIN

                Another fashion show that illustrates this trend so well is the Balmain fashion show. The fourth dress walked by Julia Frauche was full of appliqués including pearls and flowers in the middle of the chest. Anna Selezneva, number six of this fashion show, was the model who carried a great jacket which reminded me the Portuguese and Spanish bullfighters’ jackets.

BALMAIN

                Brocades and appliqués have taken the runway to another level. This trend made everything look fancier and prettier.

                Last year the fashion world was talking about glitter and metallic clothes. This year that trend is still a trend but more soft. Brocades and appliqués are definitely our SWAT team. They rescue us of this depressed mood and put a smile on our faces. That is why I like fashion so much.

SEA

This is the last trend for this Summer that I'm going to talk about.

Designers have taken their inspirations out of the sea but this time they got a lot more literal than usual.

This summer it is not about the sailor style. It is more about starfish or seahorses than blue stripes and anchors.

ON TOP:
Purse - Maricel Soriano; Necklace and Ring - Bershka
ON BOTTOM:
The two runway models - Versace; Starfish Sandals - Miu Miu; Jumpsuit - AX Paris; Purse - Marchesa; Seahorse Sandals - Miu Miu; Model in a dress - ZARA

HAVE A NICE WEDNESDAY!

TOPSHOP

All these items are TOPSHOP

My advise for this summer is not to get lost in all the colors designers have brought to you.
Colors are in and so it's keeping it simple.
Pairing something more neutral with a bit of color is perfect for those who prefer to be classy in a different way.

HAVE FUN!

CROP TOPS

1 - Emilio Pucci (Net-a-porter.com);
2 - Sara Sampaio wearing Elisabeth Teixeira;
3 - Dree Hemingway wearing Dolce & Gabbana (Vogue.com);
4 and 5 - Dolce & Gabbana (Style.com);
6 - Freida Pinto;
7 - Selena Gomez wearing Dolce & Gabbana;
8 - H&M; 9 - Prada (style.com); 10 - Topshop; 11 - Versace (style.com)
[I do not own any of these pictures. Those that don't have any reference is because I coudn't find it]

This summer crop tops are a must-have.
You won't get in any troubles by showing off a little bit of your belly, I can assure you.
Designers went crazy with this trend and so did celebrities after them.
What used to be a symbol of sexiness is now something cool, funny, ellegant
but still sexy.

The truth is that we no longer look at this trend as just something sexy.
Now, we can see the beauty of it.
But obviously it depends on the way you're wearing it:

If you want something more cute, more girly girl, you can go for a crop top and an A-line Skirt, like Freida Pinto and Selena Gomez did.
If you're looking for something more sexy, more adult, you can go for a crop top and a pencil skirt, like Sara Sampaio did.

You can also pair it with pants, jeans, or shorts.

The Africans' picture is from here

The african syle is one of this summer trends.

It is not the safari look we have seen before.
This trend is about the african patterns and promptly animal patterns.
But do not over wear the animal patterns.
If you want to rock this trend, wear bright colours, geometric patterns, etc

In this case, more is more! Mix stripes with other stripes.

But remember, the risk of you becoming too ridiculous is high, so be careful.

I advise you to look for this trend on pictures of street style, or ask somebody who doesn't understand anything about fashion if he/she likes it, because they will forget trends and will only have an opinion based on ther taste and that's important! Leave the trends for me, or for someone who understants it, or even for you, if that's the case.

Most importantly: Have Fun!

NEON BAGS

All the pictures are from here!

I'm also loving this bag that I've seen here:

Amazing!!! I die for these bags!

Neon is one of this Summer Fashion Trends.
 I think it's very wearable!
It is fresh;
It is young;
It's everything we need for this Summer.

MOSCHINO FW 12 13

Since the very first minute I've started watching the Moschino's Fashion Show, I knew that I was going to love that collection.

Blacks, blues, reds, yellows, whites, greys and a little bit of pink.
Not to colourful.
Perfect for Autumn!

It was a really wearable collection with the Moschino's taste that we are already used to.
The style is really casual chic and I love when I can imagine the majority of the pieces that were shown being used.
Rossella Jardini did a great job!

SOFT HUE

From left to right:
Runway pictures: Erdem, Giambattista Valli, Christopher Kane, Louis Vuitton, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Diane von Furstenberg
Clothes: Pierre Hardy, Current/Elliott, Gucci and Equipment

These colours are super in fashion right now! I used to unlike it,
but I'm starting to look at it in a different way.
The perfect outfit will be the one where you can pair something nude with something fucshia or just something softer like peppermint green.
It's [as always] up to you!
Most important: Have fun!

FLOWER POWER

Not many people have been talking about this trend.

I personally don't like it very much but I don't totally dislike it.

I'm talking about the floral print trend.
Some designers presented us this trend. (not many though)
And some girls out there are making the most of this trend which we usually think it's more connected to Summer, but fashion sometimes (or should I say always?) can be really unpredictable!

Let's take a look!

 Took this pics from here.

WE'RE BACK

Hey again!
Here is one of the outfits I've styled! Hope you like it!

From left to right: Ralph Lauren Black Label, by Malene Birger, Emilio Pucci, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney and Versace

Grandma sweater, color, snake texture, male style and shoes with laces.

SHOES WITH LACES

To be honest, I'm a little bit tired of this trend. I like it but... I think I've already seen too much of the same thing. But what I think is not important because this is a trend! If you're not tired of it as I am, you have green light to use it!
So, I'm sorry for the poor quality of this post, but it's school time so it's harder to make prettier things, but we'll try, though.

From left to right, upper row first and downer last:
Marc by Marc Jacobs, Reed Krakoff, Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, ZARA (69.95€), (TOPSHOP 68£)
All the pictures are from Net-a-porter.com, except the last two which are from Zara.com and from TOPSHOP.COM

Now, here is the main part of this post. I decided to creat a look with this trend. Here is the same look but one is more expensive and the other is cheaper. Can you guess which one is what?

So, the first one is the cheap one!

H&M Jeans – 39.95€, TOPSHOP Top – 48£ (almost 55€), TOPSHOP Blazer – 65£ (almost 74€), TOPSHOP Wedges – 68£ (almost 77€), ZARA BAG – 49.95€
TOTAL: 295.90€
All the pictures are from the respective brands' website
And this is the expensive one! Way expensive, actually!

Current/Elliott jeans 230.13€ - , Lanvin Top – 895€, Helmut Lang Blazer – 580€, Surface to Air – 310€, Reed Krakoff bag – 1000€
TOTAL: 3015.13€
All the pictures are from Net-a-porter.com
EXPENSIVE ONE: 3015,13€
CHEAP ONE: 295,90€

If you buy the cheap example, you save 2719,23!!!!

Too much maths?!?!?! Yeah! I think so, but I just want to share my point of view. You don't need to wear expensive clothes to be in fashion. If you can afford that, that's fine. If you can't, that's fine too. The most important thing is to wear what you like (and of course, what's in fashion).
Hope you've liked it!
Take care.
