CAMO

Fashion is definitely in war!

At least, your outfits will make you look like you're
in the middle of a battle, since camouflage is back.

Camo is the next season's must!

The only restriction is the total look.
You should not wear a total camo look.
You may coordinate it with dark pieces, for example.

HULA HOOP & CHANEL

Remember the hula hoop bags at the Chanel fashion show?

The most heard question was: how the hell am I going to wear that?
And it is a fair question, since we're talking about an enormous circle bag.
I can only imagine two people not having a problem wearing those bags and even looking good - Lady Gaga and Anna Dello Russo. [Feel free to say more names!]

This bag became an it bag right at the moment when Sigrid Agren [ELITE] walked into the runway.
But nobody was sure if this bag would ever be in sale at the Chanel stores. Not many people were interested on wasting their money in something they could not wear, not even once.
The truth is that even though it is an iconic piece, it is not practical.
But the Fashion Kaiser thinks about everything. Lagerfeld decided to also make a mini version of this bag.
Now, with 24 centimetres, the iconic bag with a double c is arriving to every Chanel stores.

KNITWEAR

Thankfully, these type of knitwear is still in fashion!
Knitwear will always be in fashion or at least it will always be seen, because it is a warm piece to wear in the cold Winter. [Who doesn't like it?]
But these type of knitwear, with pictures or appliqués, is something that we have inherited of last Winter. The only difference is in the way of wearing it. The Burberry's collection is a great example of it.

KENZO ADDICTION

This is the sweater that all girls want. Who knew that a green sweater with a tiger and some orange letters saying Kenzo would  make such a splash?

DANDY LADY

This Fall all the fashion lovers were presented to this male style.
This fashion trend is not only about dressing like a man,
it is about dressing like a dandy.
Take a look at this pictures:

The pictures above are examples how a dandy would dress up.

A dandy is "a man who places particular importance upon physical appearance
refined language, and leisurely hobbies,
pursued with the appearance of nonchalance in a cult of Self" in Wikipedia.

"Historically, especially in late 18th- and early 19th-century Britain, a dandy,
who was self-made, often strove to imitate an aristocratic lifestyle despite coming from a middle-class background" in Wikipedia.

Check out this link to know more about a dandies!

The lady version of a dandy was seen around some of the most important runways of the Fashion World. Jil Sander presented overcoats and Hermés, Donna Karan, Prada and Stella McCartney went for the matchy suits. Hermés and Donna Karan took the trend even more literally putting some top hats on the models' head. Fancy, hun?

And as usual, here are some pictures of separate clothing
related to the dandies' style:

7 - Yves Saint Laurent; 8 - Marni; 9 - Jil Sander

Summarizing, dressing like a dandy is wearing nice blazers or coats that end right above your knee, a great pair of moccasins and nice patterned or unpatterned straight pants. A top hat is an accessorie that a person who is okay with taking risks should use. It is not essential. Remember to stay true to your main style.
Nice shirts underneeth the blazers are a must.

Have a nice weekend!

NICHOLAS K SS 13

This collection, when it comes to colours, does not scream Summer, but the satin pieces help refreshing this collection which is so rich in autumnal colours.

Beige and cream, different  greens, oranges, blues and black
were the colours chosen by this brand.

The Nicholas K woman for next summer is someone whose style is easy,
relaxed, but also chic.

The majority of the pieces is fluid, not to tight, made of light materials
and has a charming movement.

To slightly define the silhouette there are some looks styled with a thin belt.

About the anoraks, I love what Maya Singer says about it on Style.com:

"Elsewhere in the women's collection, Kunz largely reiterated her recurring themes—lots of draping, and lots of experimentation with parkas and anoraks. (Is an anorak still an anorak when it has a poncho-like draped knit body? Comments welcome from any philosophy majors reading this.)"

Even if there isn't a concrete definition for that, the truth is that it rocked the runway.
But wil it rock the streets?

All models had their head covered with some sort of berets and their forearms were covered with sleeves for forearms.

Even though it is not a collection for everybody, Nicholas K has enlarged the number of its fans.

MAXI EARRINGS

Summer is almost gone but there is still a trend that I haven't talken about yet and it might stay a little longer for next season: MAXI EARRINGS!
I usually don't wear earrings but I have to admit that there are people who they fit perfectly!
Beyoncé is just one of that people.

Here are some of my favourites:

Tom Binns 648€, Bijoux Heart 341.52€, Kenneth Jay Lane 128.07€, Marni 300€,
J.Crew 47€, Tom Binns 396.42€, Miu Miu 182.96€, Marni 230€

This summer it was all about mixing things. Next season it is about matching.
If you do like to wear this type of earrings, since they stand out so much, you have to make sure they stand out for matching and not for being a different piece in an outfit that is all about admixtures.
This doesn't mean that they can't stand out or be a different piece. It means they shall match with something or be an add if it is a total or semi total look. [Remember I'm talking about next season].

The Dolce & Gabbana show for next Fall is a great example. As you can see, the maxi earrings match with all the look.

Picture from Style.com

For this summer Dolce & Gabbana presented patterned dresses with maxi earrings but as you can see the maxi earrings are not of the same colour of the dress. They mix but not match.

BROCADES & APPLIQUÉS

Designers of the biggest brands, such as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Balmain, Gucci, Marni,
Prada as well as many others, have offered us a “Brigade of Brocades” as Style.com named it.

Accessories and ornaments have always been a people’s social and economic status. In the last years, the status was more about the materials and also the designer we were wearing. This Fall I believe we are getting back to the ornaments festival.

DOLCE & GABBANA

VERSACE

When I think about this trend I immediately remember Lanvin’s fashion show and the great ornamented above the knee grey dress that came in thirty-third place on the show. That fashion show was amazing but this piece made me ascend to heaven.

LANVIN

Another fashion show that illustrates this trend so well is the Balmain fashion show. The fourth dress walked by Julia Frauche was full of appliqués including pearls and flowers in the middle of the chest. Anna Selezneva, number six of this fashion show, was the model who carried a great jacket which reminded me the Portuguese and Spanish bullfighters’ jackets.

BALMAIN

Brocades and appliqués have taken the runway to another level. This trend made everything look fancier and prettier.

Last year the fashion world was talking about glitter and metallic clothes. This year that trend is still a trend but more soft. Brocades and appliqués are definitely our SWAT team. They rescue us of this depressed mood and put a smile on our faces. That is why I like fashion so much.
